"Fantastic food. Not a ton of vegetarian options, but the ones that are there are quite good. I didn't have the opportunity to try the house-made schnapps, but the jagerschnitzel, beef cheek, and spaetzel were excellent, as were the seasonal cocktails. In a town with many excellent dining options within walking distance of the cruise ship docking areas and the Christmas markets, this place stands tall."

"Perfect for our family! The adults enjoyed sampling excellent German regional dishes whilst the kids had Italian! Great setting beside the river and interesting decor inside, great service, and surprisingly reasonable prices. Portions were also huge. One of the best meals on our holiday"

"This restaurant has a nice location. Last time I was here with my family. We ordered their regional dishes. 1. Geschmorte Rinderbäckchen butterzart gegart in Rotwein-Schalloten-Jus angerichtet mit Sahnekartoffelpüree : The beef cheeks were braised in red wine, spices and brown stock until they were fork-tender. The mashed potatoes were slightly chunky and so creamy. Unfortunately the sauerkraut could have been made to be more acidic as better contrast. 2. Schweineschnitzel mit Pfefferrahmsoße und Pommes Frites : This classic dish is all-time favorite. The breaded pork slice paired with creamy peppery sauce was such a great combination. The french fries were fried to perfection either. Nevertheless the sauerkraut could be more acidic though."

"Me and my wife are visiting from California this week and came across this restaurant while walking around. We had a really friendly server who made me feel comfortable even though we didn’t speak the same language. We ordered the schnitzel and a beef dish. Both were pretty tasty. The prices felt reasonable, especially considering the amazing waterfront seating by the Rhine. The atmosphere was great with birds flying around and their songs adding to the vibe. We sat outside, but the inside looked much cozier and had a cool decor feature. I really liked the random half car."

"Stopped for a light lunch. The Goulash soup was amazing, and the cheese and bread was enough for 2 people at such a good price. Highly recommend."

"Wow, just wow! We'd visited the point & the monument, hunger crept in. We expected Wacht to be mega expensive, it looks as though it is goin to be, but it's not, it's properly in line with other places, which given its location, picture perfect, is wonderful. Terrifically friendly staff, obviously they're well used to tourists but some places are better than others, Wacht is great. Again, we sat outside, but do go & take a look inside, the decor is beautiful. Our food was fantastic, & of course, Eli loved the beer!"

"I'd made a reservation here before my trip based on reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Indeed, I liked it so much that I went back the next day. The menu is varied, the portions large, and the food delicious. The atmosphere for Christmas time was so beautiful.
